Weekly Challenge #50: Under the Weather Challenge!

The Challenge: Create a Get Well card or gift set for a friend, family member, or acquaintance. Be sure to incorporate a Cuttlebug embossing folder, kraft cardstock, and string somewhere on your project. Include 2 Cricut cuts.

I made a guy Get Well card using kraft cardstock as the base. When I saw this cut from Paper Pups, I thought it would work well since I know so many dog lovers. It has been forever since I have used that cartridge. The frame is from Art Philosophy (Rectangle #1 and layer), then I embossed it.

JANUARY MONTHLY CHALLENGE: The Year In Review Challenge!

The year 2011 has come and gone and now we want you to take the opportunity to look back at what this year has meant to you. Create a scrapbook page or mini album celebrating the events of 2011. It could be a page that uses just one photo, like Shantaie’s, or 12 different photos (one summarizing the events for each month). You might not want to use any photos at all and just use journaling to tell your story . . . it’s up to you!

My son's birthday in Dec. 28 and every year when we celebrate his day, I mentally think about the year he has had: the good, bad and ugly... This has been a good year form him and I listed the events that took place. Cartridges used are Birthday Bash, Celebrations and photo mats using Lacy Labels.

DECEMBER CRICUT CRAFT ROOM CONTEST!

We want to encourage you to play with the Cricut Craft Room™design tool, so this month we are using it as part of our challenge! We want you to create a project of your choice with the Cricut Craft Room™design tool. If you win this challenge, we would like you to send us your file so we can add it next month’s magazine files for everyone to share!

Thanks to this challenge, I finally began learning Cricut Craft Room. This simple design took me forever, but I learned the basics: weld, group, rotate, and layer. Joy's videos and the Cricut tutorials really helped me, thank you! I made treat holders for Valentine's Day and added a bag of M&M's and for my grandsons a sucker. Cartridges: George, Art Philosophy and Sweethearts.

Weekly Challenge #48: Creative Resolutions for 2012 Challenge!

The Challenge: Whenever the New Year rolls around, we tend to do a little self-evaluation and decide what we want to do differently in the year to come. For the challenge this week, we want you to think about your CREATIVE resolutions and record them in some way. Do you want to stretch your creativity in new ways? Maybe you want to try a new hobby or learn something new. Maybe you want to simplify. Whatever it is, get those goals down on paper!

The Cricut cartridges have so many cuts and it always amazes me there are so many I didn't know existed. I'll see a project on the MB and when the person lists the carts used, I usually have them and was clueless. I decided to make a notebook to keep on my craft table to refer to when I am searching for a new idea. I know I could use the computer, but this will be tailored to my needs and I can quickly flip through it. January is a quiet craft month for me, so my goal is to collect all my notes, and to go through the handbooks, to list cartridges in different categories. There is plenty of room in my notebook to add more categories. Also, I have made a pocket to keep notes until I can categorize them. Cartridges: Simply Charmed (Notes), Sophie, (butterfly), From My Kitchen, (tabs). The Cuttlebug folder was in Swag bags from the Utah Swarm.
